Such fights and disputes only hurt us, the consumers. Not only it takes longer for the technology to be available, but also it makes it much more expensive. Then there is also SlideIT which while it does not quite look as polished and stylish has a patent filed on 6/2/2004. Swype seems a relatively new upstart in comparison.
